I know that there are 48,000 plus people who love this book so I am obviously among the very small minority here but I could not STAND Kaderin’s character. It was so hard to read about how horrifically awful she treated Sebastian throughout this entire book that I couldn’t enjoy a single page. And to watch how Sebastian continued to help and treat her with the utmost love and respect? There just aren’t words to express my disgust of her.I kept reading only to hope that she would in some way make all his sacrifices for her worth it. But... nope! Not ONE SINGLE TIME!!!! Seriously. Let’s stop and consider this if you disagree. He did everything within his power to help her, never touched her if she said not to, protected her repeatedly, sacrificed his very life for her MULTIPLE TIMES - willing to die instead of her, endured scorching sun, starvation, extreme bodily injuries (some inflicted by her) and even sacrificed having his own family so she could save hers.Yet, even after ALL that and at the very end when I’m hoping against all hope she will FINALLY do something to be worthy of him - she leaves him for her sisters and doesn’t come back. And, once AGAIN, he is left alone and devestated and finally has to go to her. HATED HER!!! With a red fueled, fire spitting, burn the book vengeance. To say he deserved so much better doesn’t come close to covering it for me. Blech! Spfffttt, Gaaaaggg!BTW.... the two stars (rather than a big fat minus zero) is because any author who can write well enough to get me this invested and worked up has some serious talent! This third book was AWESOME. By far my favorite in the series so far! Kaderin was so cool and badass and it was exciting watching her participate in the Hie doing all that crazy stuff for points. And I really loved Sebastian too!! I felt for the guy and liked that he loved Kaderin exactly the way she was and even helped her do all those crazy obstacles in the competition to be supportive.Also, the whole Hie competition thing?? SO FUN TO WATCH. All those mythical creatures running around trying to kill each other and fighting for random stuff made this super exciting. I loved it!It’s also starting to become fun for me to guess who the next books are going to be about too. Regin started talking about her true love who keeps getting reincarnated for her and I thought Well, there’s one. It’s fun how all these books and characters are connected together and it really gets me motivated to read more.↬ FINAL WORDTwo thumbs way up! The story was awesome and the romance was super cute. Loved it!!
